I guess every pregnant woman who is care about her health and her baby have listened a tern natural childbirth. So what natural birth is?


In several words natural baby birth is birth without any medication at all, when woman relys only on controlled breathing and relaxation techniques.

Many moms-to-be choose natural birth to avoid risk that medications can pose for the baby or mom. Doctors won’t tell you this, but pain medications can affect your labor — your blood pressure may drop, your labor may slow down or speed up, you may become nauseous, and you may feel a sense of confusion and lack of control. So you have a choice – natural childbirth.

In case you decided to opt natural baby birth you can choose a non-hospital facility such as birth center. Pregnant women can stay in positions that are comfortable for them, can move, eat or drink if they want to. Hydrotherapy, massage, warm and cold compresses, and visualization and relaxation techniques are available as well.

Different women find different methods that works for them.

For example you can use the next ways to help yourself in labor:

  • hypnosis (also called “hypnobirthing”)
  • yoga
  • meditation
  • walking
  • massage or counterpressure
  • changing position (such as walking around, showering, rocking, or leaning on birthing balls)
  • taking a bath or shower
  • immersing yourself in warm water or a jacuzzi
  • distracting yourself by performing an activity that keeps your mind otherwise occupied
  • listening to soothing music
  • visual imagery.

Actually, the goal of all the methods is help woman to relax. If you are relaxed you won’t feel pain.
Of course, I will not tell you that labor is absolutely painless but if you can relax during the first part of child birth – there will not be pain.
